Rev. Richard Mayer will officiate. Mary Louise Reiss was born Feb. 21, 1915, in Apache, Okla., and died on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, in Chickasha. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Chickasha, under the direction of McRay Funeral Home ========= © The Chickasha Express-Star 04 Feb 2004 Mary Louise Reiss Funeral service for Mary Louise Reiss, age 88, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2004, in the First Lutheran Church. Rev. Richard Mayer will officiate. Mary Louise Reiss was born on February 21, 1915, in Apache, Oklahoma. She died on January 31, 2004, in Chickasha. Mary grew up in Apache and graduated from Apache High School. She married Arthur Reiss, and they made their home in Apache. In 1944, they moved to the farm west of Chickasha. Mary devoted her time to her family and helping her husband on the farm. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Leonhard Wernli, Albert Wernli, and Paul Wernli, one sister, Frieda Eldridge. Mary was also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Reiss, one son, George Wayne Reiss, and two daughters, Mary Elaine Bunch, and Ruby Irene Stephens. Survivors include her grandsons, Alvin Carden of Chickasha and Richard Stephens of Flower Mound, Texas; her granddaughter Jennifer Toperzer, of Norman; her great granddaughters Megan, Ashley and Taylor Carden, and Sasha, Ashley and Hannah Stephens; her sisters Hilda Maier of Temecula, California, and Ruth Oxley of Amarillo, Texas; and her brother Hank Wernli, of Santa Clarita, California. Internment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
