Friday, March 18, 1960, front page. J. R. Reid, 82, Dies Wednesday Evening J.R. Reid died in the Anadarko hospital at 8:30 pm Wednesday after several years of failing health. He was 82. Funeral services will be held at the Baptist Church at 2 pm tomorrow (Saturday) and will be conducted by Rev. Russell Murrell, the pastor. The burial will follow in Fairview cemetery with the Crews Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Reid was born at Tupelo, Mississippi, February 16, 1878. He married Estell Word at Waxahachie, Texas, July 8, 1903. He and his family located near Apache in 1930 after residing some time near Altus. He and Mrs. Reid had resided in Apache the last several years. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife; three sons, Jack of Los Angeles, California, Paul and Clyde of Apache; four daughters, Mrs. Thelma Suchy of Oatonville, Michigan, Mrs. Connie Winters of Vernon, Texas, Mrs. Una Mae Urza of Jacksonville, Florida, and Mrs. Janivieve Coonfield of Crescent; and one sister, Mrs. Beulah McNeill of Apache. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Caddo County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/caddo/caddo.html
