Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Thursday for G. J. Ratliff, aged farmer, who lived in the community east of town. Ratliff came to his death early Monday morning as the result of a self- inflicted gun shot wound, according to the coroner's report, following the inquest under direction of W. C. Campbell, acting coroner. The farmer had killed himself with a 12-guage, single barrel shot gun while sitting by the stove in the living room of the family home shortly after eating breakfast, according to Curtis William, Carnegie officer, who with Chief A. F. Loyd was called to the scene. Members of the family said Mr. Ratliff had not been in good health for two or three years. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Caddo County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/caddo/caddo.html
