All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::NOT LISTED Comanche County Chronicle Vivian Sain September 16, 1927 – January 18, 2005 On September 16, 1927 Vivian Travette Martinez Said was born to Conday and Mattie Daniels Martinez in Apache, Oklahoma. She came into this world as a proud member of the Comanche Nation Tribe and was received into Heaven on January 18, 2005 as a proud Child of God. Preceding Vivian in passing are her baby brother James, Mother and Father, brother and sister-in-law Edmond and Estelle Martinez, and brother-in-law Buster Zetsche. Vivian is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bill Sain of Elgin. Also surviving her are her son Terry and wife Judy of Baytown, Texas, sons Rusty and Ed both of Elgin, sister Irene Zetsche of Elgin, granddaughters Whitney Sain of Dallas, Shelsea Sain of Katy, Texas, Allison Sain of Elgin and grandson Cody Sain of College Station, Texas. Vivian also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends from around the world. All who knew and loved her, but who know that she is with her Heavenly Father will miss her. Vivian grew up in Apache and later moved to Fletcher where she met up with Jody Jones Chambers, who would wind up being a lifelong friend as each accompanied the other when they got married. After graduating from Fletcher High School in 1946, Vivian went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company where she worked until 1954, when a medical condition affecting her eyesight required her to leave her job. On February 23, 1948 she and Bill were married in Wichita Falls, Texas. Later that year they moved to Jacksboro, Texas, which they called home for the next 25 years, although some of this time, was spent moving around the oilfields of north Texas. In 1971, Vivian took her three boys to meet Bill in Oran, Algeria, where they lived that summer while Bill worked in the oilfields of North Africa. In 1974, she and Bill moved to Tehran, Iran and then to Malta where they lived until they moved back to Oklahoma in 1979. Before moving back to Oklahoma, they spent time in Egypt and Italy. During all of their travels, Vivian would always attract a house full of guests with her cooking. On more than one occasion, Bill’s co-workers would ask if they could come to his house and eat Miss Vivian’s cooking. Through all of their travels, both in the States and around the world, Vivian made close friends with whom she stayed in contact. Vivian belonged to the First Baptist Church of Elgin and her fondest memories are of the mission trips she made with her church to Mexico. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Mexico Mission Fund of the First Baptist Church of Elgin.
