She had been in ill health and confined to her bed much of the time for the past two years. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist church Tuesday afternoon by Rev. R.K. McGregor, pastor, and interment was made in the Carnegie cemetery. Mrs. Martha Stockton was born in Texas in 1849. She was married to J.C. Stockton in 1868 and to this union eight children born, five of whom are living. They are: W.H. Stockton of Fort Cobb; Mrs. Elizabeth Cowan and M.C. Stockton of this place; J.H. Stockton of Norman; and Mrs. Ellen Hobbs of Eldorado, Kans. She also had 20 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Grandma Stockton was converted in early childhood and joined the Baptist church.
