All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== :Oak Grove Cemetery--Ft Cobb OK Norman Transcript September 30, 2003 Lecy Starr Lecy Starr, 92, a longtime Fort Cobb resident died Thursday, Sept. 25, at Purcell Municipal Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Fort Cobb with the Rev. Joe Albrecht officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Fort Cobb. Fort Cobb-Hackney Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Mrs. Starr was born Feb. 27, 1911, in Harrison, Ark., to Robert and Rilla (Wilburn) Harris. She attended Oakview School as a child. She married Marvin Lee "Ted" Starr May 29, 1929, in Fort Cobb. She farmed some and helped her husband in their machine shop. She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, gardening and cooking. She cooked for the Fort Cobb Rotary for many years. She was a member of the South Pioneer Club for 47 years and a member of First United Methodist Church in Fort Cobb. Mrs. Starr was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two infant daughters; son, Jim Starr; three sisters; three brothers; and granddaughter, Geneva Martin. Mrs. Starr is survived by her son, Jerry Lee Starr of Cheyenne; grandchildren, Evajo Randolph and husband, Richard, of Columbus, Ohio, Deuce Starr and wife, Donna, of Goldsby, Jerry "Biff" Starr and wife, Gina, of Oklahoma City and Susan McCoy of Reydon; 11 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Caddo County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/caddo/caddo.html
