Sutterfield CYRIL — Funeral for O.C. Sutterfield, 95, Cyril, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Cyril First Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Echols officiating. Mr. Sutterfield died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003. Burial will be at Celestial Gardens Cemetery under direction of McRay's Cyril Funeral Home. He was born Nov. 23, 1908, in Scotland, Ark., to Jasper M. Sutterfield and Zee Rilda Jones Sutterfield. He married Dessie M. Wilson on April 4, 1931, in Wright City. His first full-time pastorate was at Forest Hill Baptist Church in McCurtain County, and he completed his ministry there in 1997. He pastored 18 churches in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Kansas for more than 60 years. He was director of missions in the Concord Kiowa Association for 15 years. After he retired the first time in 1974, he and his wife did pioneer mission work in Sundance, Wyo. He continued to preach as he had opportunity. He was a member of Cyril First Baptist Church and the Masons. Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Perry and Barbara Sutterfield, Cyril; two daughters and a son-in-law: Mary Stark, Shreveport, La.; and Jean and Ken Grady, Coventry, R.I.; five grandchildren and their spouses: Richard and Sally Sutterfield, Patrick and Kris Sutterfield, Brian and Kim Sutterfield, Karla and Ron Dilorio and Rick Coy; 17 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Lola and Mary Ellen Sutterfield; and an infant son, Donald Wayne Sutterfield.
