Prayer service was held 03-Jan-2000 at the Smith Funeral Home in Anadarko. Burial was in the Redstone Cemetery, west of Anadarko, under the direction of the Smith Funeral Chapel. Silverhorn was born 20-Feb-1914 in Stecker, Caddo co., Ok. to Haungooah SILVERHORN), a famed storyteller and artist of the Saynday stories, and Taugoom (Hattie Ahboah) noted beadworker and buckskin dress maker. He was a member of the Native American Church and had once served as its local vice- president. He was a well known feather worker and bead worker. He was named an honorary member of the American Indian University of Oklahoma, Inc. He was preceded in death by one son, Max Silverhorn, Jr.; one daughter, Marlene Silverhorn; five brothers, James, George 'Dutch', Arthur, Chester and Robert Silverhorn and two sisters, Lucy and Mae Silverhorn.
