The family moving to Texas when he was six years old, he spent the most of his boyhood days there. When he was 21 years old he moved to Binger where he lived until his death. At the call of his country on Octber 3, 1917, he enlisted in the army and served one year and eight months, eleven months and fourteen days of which was spent in France with Co. A 131, G. Bn. of the 36th Division. At the conclusion of the war he returned to the U.S. and to Binger spending the rest of his life providing for his widowed mother and family. Cyrus was a member of the local American Legion. He leaves to mourn his untimely death, his mother, Mrs. Etta Skelton. two brothers, Raymond and Guy. Two sisters, Mrs. Jewel Mason and Artis Skelton.
