Officiating was Rev. Shane Hall assisted by Father Joseph Kolb. A rosary service was held 07-Jun-2000 at the Crews Funeral Home Chapel with Father Joseph Kolb officiating. Burial was in Apache's Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Crews Funeral Home of Apache. Smith was born 11-Jul-1924 south of Carnegie, Ok. He married the former Maudie Belle Gustin 08-Apr-1945 at Broxton, Caddo county, Ok. He married 23-Jan-1972 Agnes Duggins in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad from 1947 until 1953 and by Dolese Brothers from 1958 until 1964. He was a co-owner of the B&S Farm Supply from 1975 until 1989. He served on the Apache City Council from 1973 until 1981. He was a member of the Apache Masonic Lodge AF&AM #223 where he was a Past Worshipful Master. He was also a Scottish Rite Mason in the Guthrie Consistory. He was a member of the India Shrine Temple. He was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #380 in Apache where he was a Past Worthy Patron. He had served as an elder in the First Christian Church in Apache and was a member of the Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in Apache. He was a retired member of the Apache Volunteer Firefighters. He farmed and ranched in the Apache area and drove the school bus for the Apache school system for many years. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the Asatic Theatre as a Tech Sergeant. Preceding her in death was his wife, Maudie Belle Smith on 29-Nov-1968; two daughters, Debra Rose Smith and Cindy Sexton; two brothers, Jim and Harry Smith; and two sisters, Henrietta Steen and Adelphia Long. Survivors include his wife, Agnes Smith, four daughters, two step-daughters, two step-sons, 19 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one brother, three sisters and two sisters-in-law.
