Simmons was born 17-Sep-1975 in Oklahoma City, Ok. to Dustin Simmons and Nancy Church. He graduated from Cement High School in 1995 as valedictorian. He was the senior class vice- president. He graduated cum laude from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond with a bachelor's degree in corporate communications and was a collegiate All-American. He was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Simmons; his paternal grandfather, T.B. Simmons; and his maternal grandparents, Alfred and Hazel Church.
