All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Constitution May 12, 2002 Durward "Dutch" Schrader Graveside service for Durward "Dutch" Schrader, 82, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, with the Rev. Tom Willoughby, minister of music at First Baptist Church, officiating. Mr. Schrader died Friday in a local hospital. Burial with military honors will be under direction of Becker Funeral Home. Friends may meet at the funeral home at 1 p.m. and follow in procession to the cemetery. He was born Aug. 13, 1919, in Sterling and graduated from Walters High School. He was a surveyor for the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management. He joined the Navy in 1942 during World War II and made the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He was a surveyor for the Department of Agriculture after World War II, working throughout Oklahoma. He was called to active duty a second time during the Korean Conflict. He remained in active reserve when not on active duty. He retired from civil service with 32 years of service and from the Navy with 28 years of service. Mr. Schrader was also involved with oil and gas drilling and raising cattle for 35 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, LaWayne Schrader-Bullwinkle and Richard Bullwinkle; a granddaughter, Erika Luedtke, all of Dallas; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Gladys Schrader, Seattle; a sister and brother-in-law, Fern and Rocky Patterson, Oklahoma City; and several nieces and nephews.
