All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery--Bakersfield CA Stamper, Lola Mae Many people know Lola Mae by mom, sis, Grandma Stamper, Aunt Loli, or by her church family as Sister Stamper. She was born in Cyril, OK, to W.M. Guy and Ettie Eighmy. She met her husband Fred Stamper and married him by giving her word, which meant forever. Their forever lasted just shy of 50 years before Fred passed in 1990. Loving her was easy for her children; JoAn, Peggy, Freda, & Billy because she was a beautiful definition of a mother. Not only did she known she was loved but she also felt the love from her children. She was a proud graduate from Bakersfield College's Nursing program in 1961. She began her career at what is now know as Kern Medical Center and went onto Kern View Hospital where she eventually retired. She cared for people all her life whether through being a daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, nurse, or Sunday school teacher. Lola prayed. There was nothing too small or too big that she wouldn't pray for. More importantly she believed that there was someone to answer those prayers. She was a child of God, believer in Jesus Christ. She would lead prayer in her home and during prayer meetings at Sunshine Full Gospel Church. At times, she would even be a part of a Miracle. She was also crafty and competitive. She would sew for hours. The Kern County Fair is where she showed some of her creations and would win at least one blue ribbon if not many. This year was her best showing yet where she was given a plaque for a quilt consisting of Dogs. Games were also a big part of her life, Scrabble and dominos were her favorites. Besides leaving behind a legacy of faith she leaves a legacy of pictures. She catalogued her family's lives through the lens of a camera and a captured moment. When you think of mom, sis, Grandma Stamper, Aunt Loli, or Sister Stamper, you know that she covered you with prayer, enjoyed each moment with you, probably took a picture or two of you, and most of all, that she loved you. May you all know that Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose again so that you would be saved and live forever with Him in Heaven. She is survived by her brother Carl Eighmy of Oklahoma City, OK, her four children and their spouses; Harold & JoAn Richards of Bakersfield, CA, Johnny & Peggy Erwin of Doyle, CA, David & Freda Lawrence of Bakersfield, CA, and Bill & Rose Stamper of Bakersfield, CA, 12 Grandchildren, nearly 2 dozen Great-Grandchildren with twins on the way, and most recently one Great-Great- Granddaughter as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were dear to her heart. Lola Mae passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2006 due to complications from multiple strokes and a brain aneurysm. She went in peace through the care of Optimal Hospice Care. The viewing will be on Friday, November 24, 2006 between 4 pm and 8 pm.
