A prayer service was held 11-Jan-2000 at the Carnegie First Baptist Church. Burial was in Elk Creek Indian Cemetery at Hobart, Kiowa co., Ok. under the direction of Pitcher- Hackney Funeral Home of Carnegie. Tsoodle was born 18-Oct-1913 three miles north of Zoldleton on the allotment of Web and Nellie Orgy to Old Man Henry Tsoodle and Kau-Tone-Pah-Hoodle Tannedooah. He married 18-Oct-1932 in Hobart Hattie Cizek. He was a direct descendant of Red TeePee and Santanta. He attended Ignorant Hill School in 1921 which was also called Harvey Elementery School. He attended Fort Sill Indian School near Lawton, Comanche co., Ok. and graduated from Riverside Indian School, located north of Anadarko, Caddo co., Ok. He lived in the Caddo county area most of his life. He was self- employed as a farmer/rancher, worked for the Caddo County Dist. #3 and was employed by the Riverside Indian School from 1959 until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of the Kiowa Native Amerian Church Chapter. He was a Kiowa historian and orator who was well versed in the Kiowa Indian Culture. On 19-Oct-1996 he was honored by the Governor of Oklahoma with a proclamation naming that date as Oscar Tsoodle Day. He was preceded in death by his wife on 26-Dec- 1994; his parents; two daughters, Margie and Barbara; one grandchild; one great-granddaughter, five brothers and two sisters.
