TURNER Funeral services for Earnest W. Turner, age 77, of Chickasha, are pending with McRay Funeral Home. Earnest was born on March 23, 1927. He died February 3, 2005, in Chickasha. ========== Chickasha Express-Star 4 February 2005 EARNEST W. (ERNIE) TURNER Funeral for Earnest W. (Ernie) Turner, age 77, of Chickasha will be at 2:30 p.m., Monday, February 7, 2005, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Auld officiating and Rev. Alice Wendling assisting. Ernie was born the son of Fred Turner and Myrtle Wesson Turner on March 23, 1927, in Binger, Oklahoma. He went to meet the Lord on February 3, 2005. Mr. Turner had been in failing health for several years. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under direction of McRay Funeral Home. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 6 February 2005 EARNEST W. (ERNIE) TURNER Funeral for Earnest W. (Ernie) Turner, age 77, of Chickasha will be at 2:30 p.m., Monday, February 7, 2005, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Auld officiating and Rev. Alice Wendling assisting. Ernie was born the son of Fred Turner and Myrtle Wesson Turner on March 23, 1927, in Binger, Oklahoma. He went to meet the Lord on February 3, 2005. Mr. Turner had been in failing health for several years. At age 17, Ernie joined the military and served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. Most of this time he served overseas. After his tour of duty, he made his home in Chickasha where he met his wife, Barbara. They were married on January 8, 1971, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Ernie was employed by Coca Cola Bottling Company for thirty-four years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren which he adored. He also enjoyed outdoor activities and visiting with his friends. Ernie was a member of the Full Gospel Lighthouse Church. He was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Turner; parents, Fred and Myrtle Turner; two sisters, Jessie and Esther Faye Turner; one brother, Alfred Turner. Survivors include his wife, Barbara June Turner of the home; grandson and wife, Arlo & Nicky Turner of Tulsa; grandson and wife, Charley & Rebecca Turner of Skiatook; grandson, Nate Turner of Tulsa; great granddaughter, Erica Turner of Tulsa; great grandson, Jaden Turner of Skiatook; sister and husband, Frankie & Marvin Bourque of Waco, TX; brother and wife, Calvin & Kay Turner of Laverty; brother and wife, Bill & Lois Turner of Duncan; brother and wife, Danny & Barbara Turner of Chickasha; sister-in- law, Sonja Turner of Laverty; many nieces, nephews & other relatives.
