Vice, John Lester John Lester, 77, passed away peacefully in his home in the early morning hours of 7-5-02. The youngest of 4 children, he was born on 3-12-25 in Anadarko, OK to O.H. and Ida Vice. He was inducted into the Navy on 10-8-43, and entered into active service on 10-15-43, where he served as a Coxswain on the USS Pres. Monroe and the USS McIntyre, until receiving an Honorable Discharge on 3-12-46. During his time in the Navy, he earned the Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Campaign Ribbon-1 star, and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal-3 stars. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Kathryn Sue of the home; daughter Susan and husband Larry Crail of OKC; daughter Sherry and husband Sammy Harris of OKC; son Chris and wife Laurie of Norman; son Shane of OKC; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 1 lder brother; 1 older sister as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, older brother Hollis, and oldest daughter; Lesley Ryder.
