Voyles passed away August 13, 2005 in his home after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born September 1, 1921 in Cement Oklahoma to Jessie Bayless and Mattie Lou Voyles. J.R. was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Dorothy of 57 years. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Maggie Ballard, Ailene Larason, Gladys Hardesty and Maud Voyles; brothers, Merle, Winston and Carl Voyles. J.R. is survived by his wife Dorothy Voyles; children, Harlan and wife Jamey of Berthoud, Colorado, Dennis and wife Sheila of Lewisville, Texas, Stephen and wife Tami of Ramah, New Mexico; brother, Dale Voyles of Omaha, Nebraska and one sister, Jessie Bradley of Anadarko, Oklahoma; grandchildren Jim and Melanie Voyles, Sara and David Clampitt, Eric, Meri, Jory, Juan, Melissa, Joshua and Jarom Voyles (who will sorely miss J.R.); 7 great grandchildren, Alexia Jordan, Jaimie and Eric Mancuso, Jorrell, Jaxon and Joran, and Caitlin Clampitt; many nieces, nephews and loving family and friends who will mourn his passing. J.R. loved the trucking industry and profession. He worked for Rounds and Porter Wholesale Building supply for 35 years. He also enjoyed many pleasurable hours fishing on Lake Texoma. J.R. was an ordained Deacon in the Southern Baptist Church. Special thanks to all the wonderful friends and church family at Knob Hill Baptist Church. Also, a special thank you to the loving nurses and staff from Angelic Family Hospice. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association. Services will be held at Knob Hill Baptist Church located at 2700 S.W. 59th Street with interment at Fort Cobb, Oklahoma under the direction of Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary.
