Willis October 03, 2000 VERDEN--Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, 06-Oct-2000 in the First Baptist Church of Verden for Charlie E. Willis, 81, of Verden, who died 03-Oct-2000 in Oklahoma City, Ok. Officiating was the Rev. Johnny Wray and assisting was the Rev. David Bradley. Burial was in the Anadarko Cemetery under the direction of McRay's Verden Funeral Home of Verden. Willis was born 23-Jun-1919 in Bogard, Mo. to Rufus Willis and Ella Belle (Martin) Willis. He married the former Virginia Crain 31-Jan- 1946 in Anadarko. He moved to Oklahoma with his parents at an early age. He served during World War II for 30 months in the Southwest Pacific. He was a member and deacon of the Verden First Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School superintendent. He also taught Bible classes and was on the building committee. Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
