Walsh, 70, of Anadarko died Friday, 29-Dec-2000 at her home in Anadarko following a lengthy illness. Officiating was the Rev. Ray Weathers. Burial was in Anadarko's Memory Lane Cemetery under the direction of the Steverson Funeral Home of Anadarko. Walsh was born 26-Mar-1930 in Carter to Samuel J. and Ebie (Blankenship) Hemby. She married Clifford Walsh Jr. who died in 1993. She grew up in Beckham county in Oklahoma and attended school in Carter. She and her husband moved to Anadarko from Lawton in 1973. She was employed as a secretary at Tindel Concrete for several years and worked at Maxine's Steakhouse in Anadarko for 14 years. She retired in 1993. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. She loved to sit on her porch and visit with relatives, friends and neighbors. Her favorite topic of conversation was politics, and some of the discussions got rather heated. Preceding her in death, besides her husband, were her parents; one great granddaughter, Chelsea Wisdom; and one brother, James Hemby. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jackie Ray and Daisy Walkup of Fletcher, Ok., and John and Debra Cook of Lake Ellsworth, Ok.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Don Hix of Madill, Ok., Pamela and George Gibson of Bokchito, Ok., and Lissa and Chris Saathoff of Anadarko; 17 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Opal Keeran of Anadarko, Goldie Griffin of Fort Cobb, Ok., and Wilma Webb of Eakly, Ok.; two brothers, Coy Hemby of Fort Worth, Texas and Bobby Hemby of Huntsville, Ala. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Caddo County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/caddo/caddo.html
