Wilcox died 01-Nov-2000 in Comanche County Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. A.L. Swaggerty, former pastor of the First Baptist Church in Apache and the Rev. Travis Wollenberg, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Apache. Burial will be under the direction of the Steverson Funeral Home of Anadarko. Wilcox was born 15-Jun-1924 in Carnegie, Caddo county, Ok. to William and Essie Elizabeth (Josey) Wilcox. He married the former Weeda Fay Bartlett 25-May-1970 in Anadarko. He grew up in the Carnegie area and attended school at Alden. He was employed in farming and later as a welder. He was employed by former Caddo County Commissioner Elmo Patterson for many years. He loved race cars, gardening and was an avid sports fan. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Apache. Preceding him in death were his parents, one grandson, one granddaughter, one great great grandson, one brother and three sisters. Survivors include his wife of the home; four sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Gale Wilcox, Dale and Jan Wilcox, John and Kathy Wilcox, all of Apache and Roy Allen and Sharon Wilcox of Sterling, Ok.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Pam and David Walls of Oklahoma City, Ok., and Tammy McLaughlin of Anadarko, Ok.; two stepsons and their wives, Kenneth and Cynthia Walker of Oklahoma and Jarrett Wayne and Deborah Walker of Chickasha, Ok.; a stepdaughter and her husband, Donna Fay and Vincent Dorrell of Oklahoma City, Ok.; 25 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; three sisters, Lucille Wick of Carnegie, Ok., Irene Miller of Apache, Ok. and Minnie Barkley of Woodlake, Calif.; two brothers, Jim Wilcox of Lawton, Ok., W.M. Wilcox of Fresno, Calif.; one aunt, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, loving friends and neighbors.
