All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Constitution 16 Aug 2002 Joe Sherman Williams CYRIL — Funeral for Joe Sherman Williams, 68, Cyril, will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Cyril First Baptist Church with the Revs. Charles Echols and David Gibson officiating. Mr. Williams died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at his home. Burial will be at Celestial Gardens Cemetery under direction of McRay’s Cyril Funeral Home. He was born July 19, 1934, in Woodruff, S.C. He grew up in South Carolina and entered the Army during the Korean War. He was stationed at Fort Sill during this time. He married Eva Cook on Aug. 2, 1956, in Lawton. After his military service, they moved to Cyril and lived there for 46 years. He operated the Phillips 66 for 20 years, and in 1977, he built and operated Joe’s Auto Center. He was a member of Cyril First Baptist Church, and a member of the Laymen. Survivors include his wife, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law: Seindy and Bruce Byerly, Elk City; and Sherri and Gary Watson, Seminole; a son and daughter-in-law, Hoby and Monna Rae Williams, Cyril; six grandsons: Shawn Davis and his wife, Staci; Brandon and Bradon Blackburn; Kristopher Davis; and Colter and Zachary Williams; and a brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Phyllis Williams, Bladenboro, N.C. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Caddo County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/caddo/caddo.html
