Williams, formerly of Chickasha, Okla., will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2004, at Epworth Methodist Church. Don Horton will officiate. Evelyn Williams was born June 15, 1918, and died on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, in Las Vegas, Nev. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 11 November 2004 EVELYN BELL WILLIAMS Funeral services for Evelyn Bell Williams, formerly of Chickasha, will be held Saturday, November 13, 2004, at 11:00 a.m., at Epworth United Methodist Church, with Don Horton officiating. Evelyn Bell Williams was born June 21, 1918, in Ft. Cobb, Oklahoma, the oldest of five children born to Thomas Jefferson Bailey and Luella Mae Bailey. She grew up in Ft. Cobb, Oklahoma and graduated from Ft. Cobb High School in 1936. After high school she attended college at Oklahoma College for Women and Southwestern State College, where she earned her lifetime teaching certificate. While attending college in Weatherford, she met the love of her life, Herbert Williams. They were married December 22, 1939. After earning her first degree from Southwestern, she began her teaching career. She taught math and elementary education in several of the rural schools in Oklahoma. After she and Herb moved back to Chickasha she went back to college and earned her degree in vocational home economics. After thirty years of teaching she retired from Alex Public Schools. She loved the Alex community and had many fond memories of her students, fellow teachers and lifelong friends she had made while teaching there. Evelyn was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church and a founding member of the Wedding Ring Class. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Delta Kappa Gamma, a honorary teacher's organization. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Herb Williams, on April 6, 2004, and both parents. She is survived by two loving daughters, Sheron Curutchet and Donna Williams, and two granddaughters, Connie Schellerup and Cindy Hambrecht, all of Las Vegas, Nevada; one grandson, Stephen Garvin, of Stillwater, Oklahoma; eight great grandchildren, Clayton Schellerup, Carter Schellerup, Skylar Garvin, Sabrina Garvin, Max Hambrecht, Gracen Hembrecht, Kyle Garvin, and Elliot Hambrecht; and one brother, T. J. Bailey.
