Winter, 84, long-time Carnegie resident, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 23 at the local First United Methodist church, Rev. E.T. Cooprider, pastor, officiated. Winter died Sunday at the Shannon Nursing Home in Chickasha. James Harlie Winter was born August 21, 1888 in Missouri. He was a member of the local First United Methodist church and the Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice, last November. A carpenter before retiring, he had been a resident at the Nursing Home in Chickasha the past few years. He is survived by two sons, Leon of Chickasha and Lewis of Martinsburg, W. Va.; a daughter, Mrs. Vera White of Lehigh Acres, Fla., and a brother, John of California. --------------------------------------------------------------------
