All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Altus Times 17 May 2004 Claude Price Winters Claude Price Winters was born September 22, 1912 in Devils Canyon to Mamie Alice (Stephenson) and Charlie Lee Winters. He died May 15, 2004 in Hobart at the age of 91 years 7 months and 23 days. He was married to Muriel Maxine (Presler) Winters in Jackson County on Oct. 22, 1932. They enjoyed 66 years of marriage. He was a long time farmer in Kiowa County, retiring to Hobart in 1977, where he continued to cultivate his love of gardening and fishing. His home became the center for many family gatherings. These special times were cherished by both his immediate and extended families. He was a member of the First Baptist Church In Lone Wolf. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four brothers and four sisters. Survived by his five children, Billy Ray and Marla Winters of Battle Ground, Wash., Joyce Ann and Jim Pruitt of Hobart; Kenneth and Betty Winters of Skellytown, Texas; Virginia Sue and Larry Savage of Oklahoma City; Dana de Lynn and Jack Ervin of Yukon; 11 grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter and host of relatives and friends. Services will be held May 18, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Peoples Cooperative Chapel officiated by Keith Wiggington.
