Ward Service Will Be Friday P.M. Carnegie Church Services for George W. Ward, 83, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Carnegie Church of Christ and burial will be in the Alfalfa cemetery. Mr. Ward died suddenly about 5 o'clock. Tuesday afternoon at his home on West First street, altho he had been in reasonably good health. Born in Texas Jan. 11, 1869, he came with his family to old Indian Territory and located near Fort Townson where he grew to young manhood. He was married to Miss Margaret McIntosh of Fort Townson in Clarksville, Tex., Oct. 21, 1893. Mr. and Mrs. Ward came to the community northwest of Alfalfa about 1907 and for many years owned the farm on which the Bethel church is located. They came to Carnegie to make their home late in 1946. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. G.W. Ward at the home, and five daughters, Mrs. Ethel Ridgeway, Eakly; Mrs. Minnie Mathews, Holiday, Mo.; Mrs. Ida Vincent, Tulare, Calif.; Mrs. Jewel Washburn, Fort Cobb, and Mrs. Merle Fletcher, Carnegie. Also surviving are two brothers, E.L. Ward, Wichita Falls, and E.P.
