Zerger June 16, 2000 Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, 22-Jun-2000 at the First Christian Church of Anadarko for Waldo J. Zerger, 85, of Anadarko who died 16-Jun-2000. Officiating was Charles Roberts. Burial was in Anadarko's Memory Lane Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Chapel of Anadarko. Zerger was born 23-Jun-1914 in Lookeba, Ok. to John H. and Emma A. (Kaufman) Zerger. He married the former Jane Catherine Stice 17-Oct- 1942 in a chapel in Camp Gruber, Ok. He was employed as a teacher at Webster High School in Kansas until he was drafted in the United States Army during World War II. He retired as a Lt. Colonel in the Army Reserves after serving in North Africa and Europe. He moved to Anadarko in 1946 where he owned and operated Zerger Appliance and Electric for 33 years. He was elected mayor of Anadarko during the 1960's. He was president of the Anadarko Kiwanis Club and served as chairman of the board of directors for the First Christian Church where he also served as elder and Sunday School Teacher. He was elected Elder Emeritus by the church in 1996. Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include his wife, two sons, one daughter, seven grandchildren and three brothers. --------------------------------------------------------------------
