CLAYTON, N.M. - Mary Margaret "Maggie" Ditmore Anglin, 101, a former Clayton resident, died Sunday, March 9, 1997, in Yukon, Okla. Services will be at 10 a.m. (MST) Thursday in Dunn Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Gene Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Tucumcari Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Anglin was born in Tom Green County, Texas. She married Job Hill Anglin in 1919 at Water Valley, Texas. In the early 1920s, they moved to Magdalena. They later moved to Iowa Park, Texas, where her husband operated the city water works and was chief of the local fire department. In 1930, they moved to Nara Visa and leased a ranch. They moved onto their own ranch in Amistad in 1936 and stayed there until retiring in 1959, when they moved to Clayton. They moved to Logan in 1971; Mr. Anglin died in 1972. Mrs. Anglin stayed in Logan until 1979, when she moved to the Spanish Cove Retirement Community in Yukon. She was secretary of the Amistad, and later the Clayton, United Methodist churches. She was a member of the Logan United Methodist church at the time of her death. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Lou McCord of Clayton; a son, Dr. J. Hill Anglin of Oklahoma City; a sister, Naomi Ditmore of Amarillo; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
