Lela Block

SUNRAY - Lela Block, 85, died Monday, July 26, 1999.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Sunray Baptist Church with the 
Rev. Winfred Walker, pastor of Highland Baptist Church of Albuquerque, 
N.M., officiating. Burial will be in Lane Memorial Cemetery by Morrison 
Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Block was born in Yukon, Okla. Prior to moving to Sunray four years 
ago, she had lived in Lake Tanglewood and was a former longtime Sunray 
resident. She was a homemaker and member of Sunray Baptist Church.

She married B.F. Block in 1932 at Texico, N.M. He died in 1994.

Survivors include three daughters, Wanda Clark of Austin, Marcia Stevens 
of Sunray and Pattii Block of Nacogdoches; a brother, Hassler Strickland 
of Lubbock; a sister, Stella Morton of Kress; five grandchildren; and four 
great-grandchildren.

The family will be at 911 Ave. R in Sunray. They request memorials be to 
the scholarship fund, c/o Sunray Baptist Church, P.O. Box 550, Sunray, TX 
79086.
