All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Hillcrest Memorial Park--Bakersfield CA Benge, Naomi Geraldine (Gerri) Naomi Geraldine (Gerri) Benge Sept. 23, 1925 - Apr. 13, 2007 Graveside services will be held Monday, April 23rd, 1:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Gerri was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Delia Du Bois; 3 husbands, William Riley Boyle, Henry William Chauncy, and Delton Clois Benge; her brother and sisters, Karl Du Bois, Don Du Bois, Maxine Du Bois, and Pat Bilby; and her daughter, Vicky Chauncy. She is survived by her two daughters, Susa and Toni Chauncy; her grandbabies, Kindra, Lidiya, and Hunter Hill; great-grandchild, Aidan Hill; her brother, Lee Du Bois; two sisters, Bettye Spear and Shirley Wilbur; along with many more aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews, and friends including Rachel Elavsky who did bible studies with her and life long friend, Sharon Mingues. Thanks to those who helped in special services and care for her: Jim Hill, Belinda Sherwood, Rhonda Blunt, Regina, Juanita, Gloria, Sandy, and the staff at Evergreen. Finally, her favorite doctor, Ned DeVasia and all those involved on the 2nd floor of Mercy Hospital, whose care and commitment got us through. Gerri was born in El Reno, Oklahoma, hitchhiked to California with her cousin when she was 17 and lived in Bakersfield for over 50 years. She worked with a photographer before becoming a full time stay at home mom, devoting her life to her children and family. She enjoyed gardening, animals, especially wolves, bird watching, and was proud of her Cherokee blood line. She was a special and beautiful woman, compassionate, caring, and fair. She is loved and respected by all who knew her. Her love for God and a higher self was forever present. Gram, you will be forever loved and missed by all.
