She was born on January 17, 1925 in El Reno, OK to J. Doyle Baker and Ida Clawson Baker, who both preceded her in death. Following graduation from El Reno High School in 1942, she worked as a radio instrument technician at Tinker Air Force Base during World War II. Helen married her high school sweet heart, Lloyd Corlee, on January 16, 1946 upon his return from the service. She and Lloyd were very active in square and round dancing throughout the 1970's and 80's in Oklahoma. Helen was a very talented seamstress. Her joy was sewing for others, especially her granddaughters, Anna & Rebecca. She was never idle. When Lloyd retired in 1980, they moved to Wilburton, Oklahoma and spent several years building their dream home from the ground up. She is survived by her husband; Lloyd of the home; 2 sons & daughters-in-law, Mike & Lisa Corlee of Columbia, Missouri and Chris & Kathy Corlee of Norman, Oklahoma; 2 granddaughters; Anna & Rebecca Corlee of Norman, Oklahoma; 2 sisters & a brother-in-law, Mary Thompson of El Reno, Oklahoma and Ruth & Bill Puckett of Oklahoma City and a special cousin, Merah Holdeman of Wichita, Kansas. She is also survived by a stepgrandson, Matthew Landes and his wife Danell of Houston, Texas; 2 step-granddaughters, Cassaundra Duffer of Euless, Texas and Elora Charles of New York City, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Helen truly had the heart of a servant. She was the daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend who was always there for you and the memories of her will be forever cherished by all whose lives she touched. There will be cremation followed by a memorial service in Oklahoma City and burial will follow at Fort Sill National Cemtery in lawton, OK. Published in the Oklahoman on 6/28/2002.
