Gloar Jr., 79, died Monday, April 22, 2002, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Kerry Wood, minister of music at First Baptist Church, and the Rev. Michael Arndt of the church officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home. Mr. Gloar served in the Army from 1942-46. He was in the restaurant business more than 41 years. Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances; two daughters, Janet Proffitt of Childress and Vikki McCurdy of Yukon, Okla.; a brother, Thurman Gloar of Childress; two sisters, Juanell Davidson of Centerton, Ark., and Margaret Grussendorf of Irving; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
