Mackie from 3-4-2003 Examiner Enterprise Mrs. Joy Lorraine (Todd) Mackie, 73, resident of Wann, Oklahoma died Sunday at her home after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday at the Wann United Methodist Church with. Interment will be in the Mackie Family Cemetery. Funeral services and interment will be directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with the Jane Phillips Hospice, 219 N. Virginia, Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74003 for those who wish to donate in her memory. Born near El Reno, Oklahoma on August 15, 1929 to George H and Lillie R. (Adams) Todd. She moved to a farm west of Bartlesville in the early 1930"s. She attended school at the rural Buck Creek School and moved to rural Copan in 1939 and graduated from Copan High School in May of 1947. Upon graduation she was employed by the H.C. Price Company in Bartlesville. She married John L. Mackie of rural Wann on September 3, 1949 at Bentonville, Arkansas. She moved with John in 1950 to Elton, Louisiana and both worked for the Anderson Brothers Pipeline Company of Houston, Texas. While working for Anderson Brothers they lived in Louisiana, Texas, Manitoba, Canada, Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma. They returned to Wann, Oklahoma in 1953 and have made their home there since that time. She served as 4-H club coach for the Wann 4-H Club in the 1960's and early 1970's. She belonged to the Wann Home Demonstration Club # 2. She returned to work in 1967 for the Dewey Livestock Sale Company and was part owner in the 1970"s She sold her interest in the company in 1981 and continued part-time employment with the Dewey Stockyards in the 1980"s and early 1990's. She was appointed to the First Oklahoma Health Council by Dewey Bartlett, Governor of the State of Oklahoma in 1968 and served thru 1972. In 1970 -1971 she was a member of the Planning Board, responsible for bringing rural water and sewage to the Wann area. She served on the Board of Directors of the Rural Water and Sewage Board for over 20 years. She is survived by her husband John of the home, one son John L. Mackie, Jr. and his wife Susanna of Wann, three daughters; Laura L. Mackie and her husband John Perry of Oklahoma City, Diana L. Mackie of Norman and April A. Mackie of Oklahoma City. Four "Great" grandchildren; Christina Mackie of Wann, John Lee Mackie III, of Wann, John M. Perry, IV of Oklahoma City and Jennifer M. Perry of Oklahoma City, one brother; George Todd of Bartlesville and two sisters; Mary Golding of Tulsa and June Walls of Sapulpa and Several Nieces and Nephews.
