Private family committal service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. McFather was married to Hattie Lea Duncan for 67 years and she preceded him in death on Sept 19, 2000. He then married Doris Blake on Nov. 3, 2001, at the Continental in Amarillo. He worked for the Santa Fe Raiway as an engineer. He was the general chairman for the BLE from 1966 until his retirement in 1976. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jerry G. McFather of McDermitt, Nev., and Larry D. McFather of Amarillo; a stepson, Michael Blake of Yukon, Okla.; two sisters, Vera Franks of Amarillo and Arlene McFather of Del Norte, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice; or Trinity Baptist Church, building fund. Amarillo Globe-News, Feb. 18, 2002
