Repetto, 82, passed from this earth on Wednesday, August 17, 2005, after a brief illness. 'Wally' was born in Lincoln, NE on June 11, 1923. He retuned to Lincoln after serving in the United States Navy during WW II, where he met Pearl Grieser. They were married on July 17, 1949. Wally also served in the United States Naval Reserve and was called to active duty during Korea. The family resided in Lincoln until moving to Yukon in 1959. He retired from Western Electric's Oklahoma City Works in 1981 after 35 years of service that began in Lincoln. Wally's eyes lit up at the mere mention of trains. A life-long rail fan, he truly enjoyed sharing his knowledge, videos and photos with others and actively supported Yukon's Best Railroad Museum. He loved to 'chase trains' with his camera and sought out opportunities to see and ride the steam, especially the Union Pacific's 8444 engine. He looked forward to weekly domino games at Spanish Cove Retirement Village, where he resided at the time of his death. He and his beloved miniature schnauzer, 'Scooter', were both well known at 'The Cove' and were regular visitors at Yukon's Pets and People Dog Park. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Pearl, his father, mother and two sisters. Wally is survived by 2 daughters Vicki Repetto of Edmond; Nancy Pfannenstiel, her husband Wayne and their two children, Joseph and Stephanie, all of Quinter, KS; and brother Russell Repetto of Aurora, Illinois. The family wishes to thank Dr. Greg Parker and Beth for their on-going care of Wally, as well as the nurses and staff of Integris Baptist Medical Center's 901 ICU for the care he received during the last day of his life. Services will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, August 21, 2005 at First United Methodist church, 4th & Elm Street, Yukon. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Wallace S. Repetto Memorial Fund, Oklahoma City Community Foundation, PO Box 1146, Oklahoma City, OK 73101-1146.
