Laura Mae Reid

PORTALES, N.M. - Laura Mae Reid, 88, died Monday, Oct. 19, 1998.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Portales Cemetery with 
Rev. Bob Bell officiating. Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of 
Portales Inc.

Mrs. Reid was born in Canute, Okla. She grew up in Oklahoma and graduated 
from high school in Calumet. She attended business college in Oklahoma 
City.

She moved to Portales about 1950. She worked as a secretary for Dr. Howard 
McDonald and at the Portales Junior High School.

She married Henry Reid in 1955 and they purchased a ranch in the Milnesand 
area in 1955. She then worked for the Dora schools, retiring in 1969. She 
was active in the Republican Party and was a member of the Milnesand 
Homemaker's Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry.

Survivors include a sister, Elsie Johnson of Roswell, N.M.
