All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Wegener, Virginia Harlene Lucas Virginia Harlene Lucas Wegener departed this life on Tuesday, January 21, 2003, in Yukon, Oklahoma. She was born October 26, 1920, in Longton, Kansas, to Harl and Beulah Snider Lucas. She graduated from Norman High School and attended Oklahoma A & M now OSU. She married Clenard Wegener, October 26, 1940, in Lawton. She lived in Tuttle while her husband was in military service, 1940-1946. They moved to Minco in 1946. She was a homemaker and supported her husband as a military wife during World War II and the Korean Conflict. 'Jenny' was a wonderful seamstress and made many beautiful garments for her children and grandchildren. She was a talented artist and loved to make all kinds of arts and crafts projects. She was a member of the Tuttle First Christian Church, the Rebekah Lodge, and the Minco Chapter of the American Legion Auxiliary. In 1988 she moved to Spanish Cove Retirement Village in Yukon. In addition to her parents, her sister Melba Justice and brother William Ashley Lucas preceded her in death. Survivors include one son E.C. Wegener and his wife Ann of Minco, and two daughters Cindy Dickerson and her husband Vernon of Oklahoma City and Shelley Quiring and her husband Michael of Edmond. Her grandchildren Laura Wegener Tontz and her husband Greg of Norman, Chris Wegener and his wife April of Broken Arrow, and Blair and Tanner Quiring of Edmond also survive her. Her great grandchildren are Ellis Tontz of Norman and Cade Wegener of Broken Arrow. Services will be Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Minco. Burial immediately follows at Evergreen Cemetery, Minco. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Make Promises Happen, #1 Twin Cedar Lane, Guthrie, OK 73044.
