All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Welsh, Michael Gene Michael Gene Welsh, born November 22, 1952 to Kenneth and Bonnie Welsh in Holdenville, Oklahoma, died January 17, 2003 in Houston, Texas at the age of 50. Mike graduated from South Terrebone High School in Houma, Louisiana. He attended Southwestern Oklahoma State on a football scholarship until he injured his knee, then transferred to Oklahoma University. Mike remained a football fan and always followed the home team. He liked to go "Geltoning", golfing, and boating. A former resident of Elk City, OK and Yukon, OK, Mike worked for the Baroid Company as a mud engineer in the oil fields for 20+ years before moving to the Houston area 9 years ago to join Service Corporation International as their Fleet Manager. Mr. Welsh is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth G. Welsh and is survived by his wife of 15 years, Mary Welsh of Atascocita, TX; daughters, Lesley Perry and her husband, Mark of Oklahoma City, OK, Kelsey Elliott and her husband, Matt of Elk City, OK, Melissa Deddo and her husband, Josh of Moore, OK, and Melinda Winters of Atascocita, TX; sons, Elliot Michael Welsh of San Leon, TX, and Bryan Winters and his wife, Vanessa of Humble, TX; brother, Pat Welsh and his wife, Lisa of Canute, OK; 10 grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2003 in the Chapel of Kingwood Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dennis Fotinos of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Kingwood, officiating.
