All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::People's FH--Hanford CA Wilson, Melvin "Mel" Hanford resident Melvin "Mel" Dewayne Wilson, 54, passed away Monday, Jan. 1, 2007 in Hanford. Mel was born in El Reno, Oklahoma, on May 5, 1952 to Walter and Eula Wilson. He was one of five children. Mel graduated from Kingsburg High School in 1970. He was employed by M.C. Fagundes Farms. After spending several years living in Priest Valley, Mel moved to Kingsburg with his family at the age of 16. His hobbies included surfing (in his youth), horseback riding, cattle roping, fishing and camping. Family friends will remember Mel for his sense of humor and how much he enjoyed making people laugh. Mel was known by many in the area as a mechanic, rancher, and cowboy whose sharp sense of humor always brought a smile to your face. He is survived by his son, Dwight J. Wilson and his girlfriend Sarah Clark of Hanford; a daughter, Stephanie Wilson-Byars and her husband Richard of Stockton; granddaughter Madeline R. Wilson of Sedro Woolley, Wash.; and many family and friends who will deeply miss him. Melvin is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Eula Wilson; his brothers, Charles Wilson and Ronald Wilson. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at People's Funeral Chapel in Hanford.
