In beginning of Bible is written: “My mother (of Bunice Short) had one sister Rebecca Bowen married to Lynn Henry. Had one daughter Cecil, son Lynn Henry, son Loyd Henry and daughter Carmen. Mother’s brother Montil died at 14 yrs in 1913. Marriage Record: Charley A. Fanning b. 2/4/1894 m. Bunice Short b. 3/17/1898. Marriage occured 1916 July 18 in (former) Durwood, Carter Co., Oklahoma; In attendance George and Maggie Fanning (Charley’s parents), Pearl Fanning, John Fanning, Eulah Fanning, Ruby Fanning and Roy Fanning; Bunice’s Father: Dock Seymore Short b. near Memphis, Hardin, Tennessee m. Lona Bowen d/o William and Sallie (Jones) Bowen. Lona b. 3/9/1875 Carroll Co., MO, granddaughter of John Bowen and Rebecca Coales; Dock’s Father: Calvin Short (died in Civil War) had sons Lee, Rol, Jim, Lawn, Oscar; Calvin’s sisters were Maud, Roseline, Media and Viola. Bunices Brothers: Virgil Short (m. Allie), Arthur Short (m. Thelma), Effie Short (m. Williams) and Rebbeca (m. Johnson); and a baby sister “no name”; Bunice and Charley’s children: Baby Jack Fanning b. 3/22/1918 Durwood, OK d. 3/26/1918 Grover Eugene Fanning b. 1911 Mannsville, OK Charles A. Fanning, JR. b. 9/22/1924 KCMO Donna Fanning b. 7/18/1921 Colgate, OK d. 11/11/1921 Robert Ray Fanning b. 4/7/1935 KCMO These final individuals are still living, so further details will not yet be posted to the internet.
