ABRAMVILLE CEMETERY is a black cemetery located in Range 2E, Township 2S, Section 27, just south of Snodgrass road. It is still an active cemetery. 2. ARDMORE AIRPARK CEMETERY is an abandoned cemetery located on the property of the ARDMORE INDUSTRIAL AIRPARK. It is located in Range 3E, Township 3S, Section 18. It is just inside the south entrance of the Industrial Park about 200 yards. 3. BERWYN CEMETERY is located in the city of Gene Autry, Range 2E, Township 3S, Section 24. 4. BOMAR POINT CEMETERY is located just southwest of the city of Wilson, Range 2W, Township 5S, Section 6. It is one of two cemeteries of the city of Wilson. 5. CAMP CEMETERY is a fairly new cemetery and is very small, located just on the east side of Clint Owens road in Range 3W, Township 2S, Section 16. 6. CHAGGAR CEMETERY is an abandoned cemetery and difficult to find. It is in Range 3W, Township 3S, on the Section lines of 15 and 22, about 500 yards off the east side of Westbrook road. 7. CLEARVIEW CEMETERY is a black cemetery in Ardmore and is the largest black cemetery in Carter County. The location is Range 2E, Township 4S, Section 21, just north of the intersection of highways 142 and 199. Many graves here with no markers. 8. COBB CEMETERY is a small black cemetery in the north part of the county in Range 1E, Township 2S, Section 35. It a quarter of a mile south ot Pitt road and it is still an active cemetery. 9. COLE CEMETERY is just south of Indian Hill road in Range 2E, Township 4S, Section 9. There is a road to the cemetery, but it is usually locked. 10. CONCORD CEMETERY is located at the Concord Church on Minnie Johns road and is an Indian cemetery. Proper location is Range 3E, Township 5S, Section 13. 11. CRINERVILLE CEMETERY is in the Criner Hills in the southern part of Carter County. It is in Range 1E, Township 5S, Section 28 on Dolese road. 12. CALVARY OR DAWES ACADEMY CEMETERY is a black cemetery located on the grounds of Calvary Church, Range 2E, Township 3S, Section 1. The cemetery is at the end of Calvary road. It was first called Dawes Academy Cemetery and was named after a pioneer woman by the name of Dawes who started an academy on the site for black students. 13. FRIO CEMETERY is an abandoned cemetery located in Range 3W, Township 2S, Section 16. It is about 500 yards east of Clinton Owens road and cannot be seen from the road. Most burials here were prior to statehood. Have also seen the name of the cemetery spelled FREE-O. 14. GLENN CEMETERY is located in Range 1E, Township 3S, Section 9 on the west side of Olan Sparks road. It is in the area of where the town of Glenn was at one time. Last burial was in 1993. 15. GODDARD CEMETERY so named only because it is on the Goddard Ranch property. There are two graves here, a man and his horse. The graves are just off the west side of highway 177 in Range 3E, Township 3S, Section 11 at the foot of the Arbuckle Mountains. 16. GRAHAM CEMETERY is the cemetery for the city of Graham. It is located in Range 2W, Township 2S, Section 32. 17. HARRIS CEMETERY is an abandoned cemetery within the confines of Lake Murray State Park. Very difficult to find in the area of Range 2E, Township 5S, Section 21. 18. HENDERSON CEMETERY is another abandoned cemetery just north of the Ardmore Industrial Airpark on Conway road. Almost impossible to canvass this cemetery due to growth of underbrush and it cannot be seen from the road. There are whites, blacks and indians buried in the cemetery. The location is Range 3E, Township 3S, Section 5. 19. HEWITT CEMETERY is a cemetery in the city of Wilson. The location is Ranges 2W, Township 2W, Section 34. 20. HICKORY CEMETERY is a black cemetery on the north side of Hickory road in Range 1W, Township 3S, Section 10. 21. HICKORY CEMETERY is considered to be an indian cemetery and at one time was called JACKSON CEMETERY for the first person buried there. It is in the southern part of the county in Range 1E, Township 5S, Section 23. 22. HILLCREST CEMETERY is the second largest cemetery in Carter County and is located in the city of Ardmore in Range 2E, Township 5S, Section 7. 23. HUTCHINS CEMETERY is not accessible except through private property. It is a family cemetery located in Range 3E, Township 3S, Section 22 and is still an active cemetery. 24. JEHOVAH CEMETERY is a black cemetery located west of Shannon road in Range 1W, Township 3S, Section 5. 25. JOHNSON CEMETERY is a small black cemetery, well kept but no burial since 1920. It is located at the east end of Carl Woodward road in Range 3E, Township 3S, Section 29. 26. KELLER CEMETERY is in the central part of the county. Located near the town of Keller that was founded by William Keller and the cemetery was probably named after this family. The location is in Range 2W, Township 4S, Section 2. 27. LONE GROVE CEMETERY is the cemetery for the city of Lone Grove, located north of Memorial road in Range 1W, Township 4S, Section 24. 28. MAXWELL-WOODS CEMETERY is located in the middle of the Dornick Hills Country Club Golf Course in Ardmore. Perry Maxwell, who designed this course and many others received special permission to be buried at this site. The location is Range 2E, Township 4S, Section 7. 29. MCALISTER CEMETERY is in the lower central part of the county. It is on Dolese road in Range 1E, Township 4S, Section 36, very near the Love County line. 30. MILO CEMETERY is the cemetery for the city of Milo. It is on the north side of highway 53 in Range 1W, Township 2S, Section 32. 31. MOUNT PLEASANT CEMETERY is a black cemetery southeast of Gene Autry. The location is Range 3E, Township 3S, Section 32. 32. MOUNT ZION is a Jewish cemetery in Ardmore near Rose Hill cemetery. It is located in Range 2E, Township 5S, Section 6. 33. NELLDA CEMETERY is in the far southeastern part of the county. It is on Durwood road in Range 3E, Township 4S, Section 26. 34. NEWPORT CEMETERY is on Newport road north of the town of Newport. The location is Range 1W, Township 3S, Section 35. 35. NORRIS CHAPEL OR HIGNIGHT CEMETERY is an abandoned cemetery just west of a present day landfill. It is overgrown and hard to find and many of the graves are unmarked. The location of the cemetery is Range 2E, Township 4S, Section 24. 36. OIL SPRING CEMETERY is located in the far northwest part of the county. It is a black cemetery and very well kept. It is on the south side of highway 7 in Range 2W, Township 1S, Section 9. 37. OIL SPRINGS CEMETERY is located on the Harry Coleman Ranch in the west part of the county. It is on the west side of Junior Murray road in Range 2W, Township 3S, Section 7. Cannot be seen from the road and the road to the cemetery passes through Colemans yard. 38. OLD BERWYN CEMETERY was the old cemetery for Gene Autry. Was also known as the DILLON CEMETERY, but now is abandoned. The location is north of Gene Autry in Range 2E, Township 3S, Section 13. 39. POOLEVILLE CEMETERY is the cemetery for the city of Pooleville. It is in the far northwest part of the county in Range 2W, Township 1S, Section 34. 40. SPEAKE CEMETERY is a family cemetery on the east side Woodward road in Range 1W, Township 3S, Section 11. 41. PRUITT CEMETERY is on Gene Autry road one-half mile north of highway 199. It is in Range 2E, Township 4S, Section 22. 42. RECK CEMETERY is the cemetery for the community of Reck in the southwest part of the county. The cemetery is on Reck road in Range 3W, Township 5S, Section 23. 43. RICH CEMETERY is a family cemetery on private property in Range 2E, Township 3S, Section 28. 44. ROSE HILL CEMETERY is one of the cemeteries for Ardmore. It is located south of the city in Range 2E, Township 5S, Section 6. It is the largest cemetery in Carter County. 45. PROVENCE CEMETERY is in the southeast part of the county. It is on Provence road in Range 3E, Township 5S, Section 6. Provence was once a thriving community but now everything is gone but the cemetery. 46. SPRINGER CEMETERY is the cemetery for the city of Springer. It is located in Range 2E, Township 3S, Section 7. 47. SAINT MARYS CEMETERY is the Catholic cemetery for the city of Ardmore. It is near ROSE HILL, MOUNT ZION and HILLCREST cemeteries in Range 2E, Township 5S, Section 6. 48. THOMAS CEMETERY is an abandoned cemetery near the community of Baum. The location is Range 3E, Township 4S, Section 2. Many unmarked graves in this cemetery. 49. WILSON CREEK CEMETERY is on Red Everett road in the southeast part of the county. The location is Range 3E, Township 5S, Section 22. 50. WOODFORD CEMETERY is near the city of Woodford in the north part of the county. It is located in Range 1W, Township 2S, Section 34. 51. YOUNG CEMETERY is on Jim Young road in the northeast part of the county. Land description is Range 3E, Township 3S, Section 15. 52. CHEEK-LOVE CEMETERY is a small black cemetery in Range 1W, Township 5S, Section 22. 53. CHEEK CEMETERY is in the south part of the county on Cheek road. CHEEK and CHEEK- LOVE cemeteries are in the same area. This cemetery is in Range 1W, Township 5S, Section 34. 54. PORTER CEMETERY is a small indian cemetery on Cisco road near the Murray State Park Airport. It is in Range 2E, Township 5S, Section 32. 55. MOUNT OLIVE CEMETERY is the cemetery for the city of Healdton. It is in the west part of the county at Range 3W, Township 4S, Section 11. 56. GRANT CEMETERY is a small family cemetery on Calvary road in Range 2E, Township 3S, Section 12. 57. BAILEY CEMETERY is another small abandoned cemetery off the east side of Hospital road in Range 3W, Township 4S, Section 23. It is overgrown and very difficult to find. 58. MONK CEMETERY is also another abandoned cemetery in the far northwest part of the county. It is located at the intersection of Jack Perkins road and highway 7 in Range 3W,Township 1S, Section 23. 59. RATLIFF CITY CEMETERY is a new cemetery for the city of Ratliff City. It was started in 1991 and is located in Range 3W, Township 1S, Section 21. 60. GAINES CEMETERY is a small abandoned family cemetery. Very difficult to find. It is about 100 yards north of the Caddo Creek bridge on the west side of the road and only one stone can be seen from the road. It is in Range 1E, Township 3S, Section 20. 61. PHILLIPS CEMETERY is on private property and a guide is needed to find the cemetery. The location is Range 1E, Township 3S, Section 18. 62. BLACKJACK CEMETERY is another difficult cemetery to find. It is east of Henderson road in Range 3E, Township 4S, Section 17. There is a sign that marks the entrance to the cemetery but the cemetery cannot be seen from the road. 63. TATUMS CEMETERY is a black cemetery for the city of Tatums. Cemetery was probably named after the first postmaster of Tatums, Lee Tatum. It is located in the northwest part of the county in Range 3W, Township 1S, Section 13. 64. SMITH CEMETERY is named this only because that is the name of the person with the oldest stone. It is an abandoned cemetery and cannot be found without direction. There is no road to the cemetery and is extremely overgrown. The location is Range 2E, Township 5S, Section 14. 65. HARDY CEMETERY is another abandoned cemetery. It is called HARDY only because this is the oldest stone. It is located on the Noble Foundation Ranch at Range 1E, Township 4S, Section 16. 66. BAXTER CEMETERY is a family cemetery at the end of Baxter road in the southeast part of the county in Range 3E, Township 5S, Section 16. 67. CROSKELL CEMETERY is a new family cemetery on private property. It is located on Croskell road in Range 3E, Township 3S, Section 16. 68. GROUNDS CEMETERY is an abandoned cemetery. The cemetery only has two stones but according to the property owner there are many graves. It is located near Ardmore in Range 1E, Township 5S, Section 2. 69. TALIAFERRO CEMETERY is a small cemetery on private property. It is within the city limits of Lone Grove, OK. The location is in Range 1E, Township 4S, Section 30. 70. OLD MCALISTER CEMETERY is an abandoned cemetery in a very remote area. It cannot be found without a guide. The location is Range 1E, Township 5S, Section 22. 71. LUSK CEMETERY is a brand new cemetery in the far northwest part of the county. It is on private property of the Lusk family. The location is Range 2E, Township 3S, Section 4.
