  Graviside funeral services were Jan.14 2000 at Mount Olive Cemetery for 
  Freeman Harrison Bray of Healdton, Okla. Bray, 88, died on Jan. 11 in an 
  Ardmore, Okla., hospital. Steve Melton officiated.
  Bray was born on March 11, 1911, in Healdton, the son of Joe Franklin 
  and Mary Etta (Mammie McCarley)Bray. He was married to Catherine Reeves on
  May 28, 1934, in Healdton. He owned and operated F.H. Bray Trucking and 
  House Moving and later Bray's Grocery and Meat Market. They moved to 
  Artesia where he owned and operated Cosdon Service Station. He later worked 
  as a diesel mechanic for Steere Tank Lines, retiring in 1973. They moved 
  back to Healdton in 1982. Bray was a member of the Ratliff City Church of 
  Christ, was a charter member of the Moose Lodge in Artesia and was a member 
  of the Odd Fellow Lodge (I.O.O.F.) in Healdton and Artesia. Survivers 
  include sons Richard Franklin Bray and Tomie Eugene Bray, both of Healdton, 
  and Jimmy Jay Bray of Carthage, Texas; daughter Carolyn Kay Ford of Tacoma, 
  WA; sister Wanda Garrett of Tussy; brother J.D. Bray of Healdton; 
  14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
  He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine, in 1996, son Ernest Bray 
  in 1999; brothers, Otto, Orvil and Cameron Bray; and sister Jimmie Upshaw.

*(Mr. Bray's granddaughter contacted me (patti pennington) with a correction to 
the above information.  Freeman Harrison Bray's mother was Mary Etta
McCarley Bray, and her nickname was Mammie.  The name Mammie was also 
used on census records.)
