All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Roller Cox FH--Clarksville AR Durant Daily Democrat 9 Apr 2005 Louise Bauer, 80 Louise Bauer, 80, Seabrook, Texas, passed away April 5, 2005, at Baywind Village Care Center. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 15, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Morrison's Bluff, Ark. Roller Cox Funeral Home, Clarksville, Ark., is coordinating arrangements. Louise was born in Healdton and graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa. After attending business school, she worked as a clerk for the Sante Fe Railroad. In 1946, she married Roman Bauer. They lived in Tulsa until Mr. Bauer's employer, Hale-Halsell Company, transferred him to Durant in 1960. Louise was employed at Southeastern State University for almost 20 years as a bookkeeper for the student loan program. She and Mr. Bauer began their retirement years in Morrison's Bluff in a home adjacent to the Bauer homestead. Their retirement was cut short in 1988 when Mr. Bauer learned he had Lou Gehrig's disease. They relocated to the Houston metropolitan area in order to facilitate medical treatments. Following Mr. Bauer's death in 1990, Louise remained in Seabrook. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Nassau Bay, Texas. Survivors include the couple's children: Judy Bauer Ahlhorn and husband Ron, Seabrook, and Rick Bauer and wife Tanya, Ward, Ark.; grandchildren Ryan Bauer, Hollie Plummer and husband Luke, Jessica DePetris, Paige Bauer, Erin Qualls, Evans Qualls and Nicole Qualls White and husband Jason; and two great-granddaughters Kelsey Plummer and Alyssa White. Louise's favorite pastime was reading. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made out to Harris County Public Library and be sent to Evelyn Meador Branch Library, c/o Greg Burns, 2400 N.
