Robert L. Chenoweth, 76, was born in Enid, Oklahoma on September 28, 1926 to Louis A. and Velma Warrick Chenoweth and passed away February 26, 2003. He attended Enid Schools and graduated from Enid High School in 1944. He also graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1948 and did graduate work at U.C.L.A and Washington University in St. Louis. He married Donna Hodge in St. Louis in 1960. After leaving the Chenoweth and Green Music Company in Enid, he became a piano broker for firms in Chicago and Los Angeles. In 1952 he opened Chenoweth and Green Store in Ardmore where he was prominent in civic organizations including the Rotary Club. In 1958 he became a financial consultant for a national investment firm in St. Louis where he was a member of 'St. Louis the Ninth' Society, an officer in the Presentation League, Patron of the St. Louis Art Museum, member of the Organist Society and participated in various civic organizations. In 1964 he opened an Edward Jones investment firm in Enid and later was associated with Stifel-Nicolaus Co, and moved to St. Louis and was associated with Oppemheimer for several years. Upon returning to Enid he remained a Vice-President of A.G. Edwards and Sons, Inc. Like his father before him, Mr. Chenoweth has been a benefactor of Youth Services, The Enid Symphony and Phillips University where he was a member of the Phillips University Task Force. In addition, he was a member of Lions Club; he also supported Gaslight Theatre and continues membership in other civic organizations as well as vice-presidency of A.G. Edwards Investment firm until his death. He was raised in the Methodist Episcopal Church and later joined St. Matthews Episcopal Church where he was substitute organist and a member of the vestry. He and his family now attend Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Edmond, OK. Mr. Chenoweth is survived by his wife Donna of 43 years; their children: son, Brad Stuckenberg, his wife Sandee of Diamond Bar, Calif.; daughter, Lee Ann Lawson and husband Richard of Arlington, TX; grandchildren, Kyle, Kimberlee, Cayla and Jessica; one sister, Vida. His parents, sister, brother, and his wife's family members preceded him in death. A memorial service will be 11:00 am Saturday, April 5, 2003 at the Enid Symphony Hall. Memorials can be sent to Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Edmond, OK; St. Matthews Episcopal Church, Enid, OK; Enid Symphony Hall, Enid, OK; Fort Worth Symphony, Ft. Worth, TX; Hospice Circle of Love, Enid, OK; Oklahoma Medical Society; Our Daily Bread, Enid, OK or charity of ones choice with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home, P.O. Box 3501, Enid, OK 73702 serving as custodians of the fund. At his request his body was donated to the Oklahoma Medical University School. Arrangements are through LadusauEvans Funeral Home, Enid, OK.
