Submitted by: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rube Emberling Buried Monday Afternoon Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Assembly of God Church at Pruitt City for Rube Emberlin, recently discharged service man, and formerly a farmer prior to entering the service. Mr. Emberlin is a nephew of Jim Emberling, Healdton, and had been ill for some time, having recently received treatment at the Veterans Hospital, at Sulphur. Rev. John Mangum, Pruitt City, conducted the service with burial in the Graham cemetery with the Bettes Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Emberlin was born June 28, 1911 in Carter County and died January 12, 1946 at the family home north of Healdton. He was well known in western Carter County where many friends will miss him. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ruth (nee Skelton) Emberling, three children, Alva Lee, Elwanda, and Martha, and his mother, Mrs. Ernest Emberlin, all of Healdton. His father preceded him in death. Background information: Rube was also survived by brothers Ruel, Ranel, and Robert, sister Claudia Gordon, his grandmother Mollie Emberlin, uncle John Griffin Wright, aunts Mettie and Lillie Wright, uncles Banks, Jim and George Emberling, aunts Edna Shrader, Lucy Woymon, and Callie Hodges.
