Duncan Banner 26 Jun 2003 Oscar Hayward *Oscar Hayward, 82, of Fox died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, in Healdton. Service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Ratliff City First Baptist Church with Dwight Hawkins and Hurshel Baker officiating. Burial will be in Graham Cemetery under the direction of Spivey's Reser Funeral Home of Healdton. Oscar was born Jan. 20, 1921, in Scranton, Ark., to Frank and Millie Stovall Hayward. He married Marcelle Jackson on Dec. 8, 1956, in Fox. Mr. Hayward was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army. He owned and operated Hayward Tank Truck Service until his retirement in 1987. He was a member or the Healdton Masonic Lodge and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Marcelle, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherian and Larry Blankenship of Courtney; a brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Dortha Hayward of Scranton; two grandsons, Kerry Blankenship and Larry Don Blankenship and his wife, Gina, all of Courtney; two great-grandchildren, Justin and Paige Blankenship of Courtney; a special nephew, James Smart; a special niece, JoAnn Butler; and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Ida Johnson and Delia Johnson. Bearers will be Dale Tivis, Nub Sullivan, Porter McDaniel, Larry Lee, John Powell and Bear Stewart. Honorary bearer is James Smart.
