Josephine Fern Lindley October 15, 1910 - March 12, 2005 *Reverend Josephine Lindley passed away on March 12, 2005 in Oklahoma City. She was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on October 15, 1910 to Clara E. Holden and David H. Holden. Josephine graduated from Wilson High School in 1931 and attended college in Durant, Oklahoma in 1935. She married Louis M. Lindley in the North Hollywood Church of the Assembly of God on March 29, 1943. She taught school in a small town near Healdton, Oklahoma, graduated from Federal Education School with a diploma, finished a government course from Ozment College in St. Louis, Missouri for Government Post Office Clerk, and completed a 3-year Workers Training Course from Springfield, Missouri with diplomas. She received the standard diploma in 1962, the advanced diploma in 1963, the Masters diploma in 1964 and also received a number of Bible courses with diplomas. Josephine worked for Lockheed Aircraft as a manager of the Blueprint File Department from 1941 to 1945; she worked at Zales Jewelry store for 10 years and then worked for A.M.C. Discount Store for 15 years and retired in 1974. Josephine was baptized in Wilson, OK in 1930. She loved doing the Lord’s work by attending Ladies Bible Class and being the teacher of that class for Assemblies of God Church for a number of years. She enjoyed the journey of Life and she stated there have been some storms along the way. Her highest desire was to be a soul winner, to pray and encourage all people to walk with the Lord in love. She read the Bible 30 times and said there was still so much more for her to learn. The Lord gave Josephine many talents, some include: oil painting, sewing, playing organ music, creative art work, and giving to others. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband on August 14, 1974. She is also preceded by a sister Ida Turpin, a brother Glenn H. Holden, and a nephew, William G. Holden. Josephine is survived by four nieces, Mrs. Glenda Shaw of Fresno, California, Bonnie Turpin, Mrs. Betty Coats, Santa Clarita, CA, Mrs. Shirley A. Taylor, Mesquite, Texas, Grandniece, Deanna Coats Moffett, Grandnephews, Charles Shaw, William D. Holden, Michael Coats, Timothy D. Taylor, David R. Taylor, Scott M. Taylor and Steven J. Taylor and a host of other relatives. Services for Josephine will be held at the Crossroads Cathedral Chapel in Oklahoma City, OK on March 15, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Gary Bohanon officiating. Interment will be at the Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay, OK at 2:00 p.m. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of B. G. Boydston Funeral Home.
