Loerwald HEREFORD - Sylvester T. "Tup" Loerwald, 80, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1998. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today in the Rose Chapel of the funeral home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Monsignor Orville Blum, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park by GilillandWatson Funeral Home. Mr. Loerwald was born in Ardmore, Okla. He moved to Deaf Smith County in 1929 from Wichita Falls. During World War II, he served in the Navy Seabees. Mr. Loerwald was employed as shop foremen and welder at Poarch Brothers Welding. He was a fourth-degree Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Hereford Volunteer Fire Department, St. Anthony's Catholic Church and Golden K Kiwanis. He married Cecilia Hope Zinser in 1947 at Mena, Ark. She preceded him in death in 1995. Survivors include three sons, James Loerwald and Tommy Loerwald, both of Austin, and Jeffrey Loerwald of Amarillo; two daughters, Linda Ellis of Lamesa and Kathryn Lipowski of Houston; two brothers, George Loerwald and Harold Loerwald, both of Hereford; two sisters, Pauline Howard and Ruth Loerwald, both of Hereford; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
