Submitted by: Maxine Reggio ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Surnames: McLane, Lynn McLane, Harrison Daily Ardmoreite March 25, 1896 News was received today that Harrison McLane, Ex-permit Collector for Pickens County, died this morning at his home, near Woodford. He had been sick for some time and his death was not expected. He was a conspicuous figure in Chickasaw affairs and his death marks another decimation of the full blood Indian ranks. While Harrison McLane was not free from faults and weaknesses, as other men, with them all he was a man of honest intentions with his fellow men. Whatever may have been charged against him has been atoned for, as for things earthly are concerned. The details as to funeral arrangements are not known. Undertaker Apollos, sent out a casket for the remains.
