Malloy Dies in Hospital, Rites Saturday Services for John Jefferson Malloy, 68, who died Thursday in a local hospital, are set for 3 p.m., Saturday with burial from Bettes Chapel. The Rev. Charles Stephens, Southwest Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill assisted by Cleve Day, Jo Martin, O.B. Ward, Tommy Kerbo, Floyd Jeffus and Bill West. Malloy, a brick and rock mason, was born March 7, 1876, in Fannin County, Texas and had lived in Ardmore 30 years. He is survived by his wife, Minnie Lee, 1009 Hailey St., SE; three sons, Ray, Bakersfield, Calif.; W.L., U.S. Marine Corps, Honolulu, T.H.; Sylvester, Arvin, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Jess Day, Ardmore, and Mrs. M. W. Shelby, Comanche; a sister, Mrs. C. G. Stoutt, Ardmore; one half brother, Jake M. Sirkle, Bokchito; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Malloy were married at Yarnaby in 1911. =========== Submitters notes: According to the Bettes Funeral Record, John Jefferson Maloy was born March 7, 1886 not 1876. John was 68 years 7 months 27 days old when he died. The funeral record also shows the last name with only one 'L' . John's parents were Columbus C Maloy and Demaris Driggers.
