All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED Napa Valley Register Saturday, September 01, 2007 Coy McClendon VALLEJO - Coy McClendon, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 25, 2007. Coy was born Dec. 6, 1925, and was raised in Healdton, Okla. He joined the Navy in 1943. While stationed at Mare Island Naval Shipyard, Vallejo, he met his wife Lorraine. Coy’s next tour of duty would be on the hospital ship, Benevolence, when it was involved in a shipping accident and sank Aug. 25, 1950. He was on the missing list for two days. Coy worked as a pipe insulator for many years at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo until retiring. Coy remained in the workforce full-time until his death as a lieutenant in the security field. He was an avid Oklahoma Sooner football fan. Coy is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lorraine; his sons Bill and wife Lea Ann of Napa, and Jim and wife Cathy of Nevada; daughters Judy and husband Jack of Rio Vista, Diane of Napa, and Sharon and husband Dave Cook of Oklahoma. He had 11 grandchildren. Coy is also survived by his sisters Willie and husband Dick Atchley of Texas, and Pearl Dunn of Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held Sept. 7, 2 p.m. at New Life Tabernacle, 2625 First St., Napa.
